WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in specific statistics. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with every upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. The item upgrader mod used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and accessories. They can be bought by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for Item level upgrade items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next level of upgrade, in the event that there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Upgraders for items can be found at many locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a benefit and a drawback.

In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. After an upgrade has been completed to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This is even if those items come from a different set of gear.

The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut too, but it is only available when certain milestones are reached.

Crests

Players have a number of choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item upgrading level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests can only be spent on equipment of a particular rank, and every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities, or by doing dungeons or raids in any difficulty to earn lower-level gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons that have a high difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item level upgrade (simply click the next document) upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it brings some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them properly. For instance, it's Best item upgrade to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the Best item upgrader gear you have available and save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, that will be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
