Replacement UPVC Door Handles

If you're replacing the handles or adding a little extra security, you'll choose the perfect handle for your door. Upvc handles are simple to install and meet the required 92mm centres for multipoint locks.

The most important measurements to be considered are backplate fixing centres and lever/key hole dimensions. Compare these measurements carefully with your existing marks before ordering.

Lever/Pad

Lever pad door handles are made up of an elongated lever handle on one side and a paddle-shaped handle on the other. These are designed for use with key wind locks. However, they can be fitted to multipoint split spindle door locks.

It is important that when choosing the new set of upvc lever pad handles, they are in line with the PZ (distance from the handle spindle to the centre of the hole of the cylinder) of your multipoint door locks. Once located you can loosen the set screw with the help of a screwdriver, and then take it off to allow the lever to return to its horizontal position.

Once the handle is in a horizontal position you can re-install the screws and tighten them to make sure the handle remains secured to the base plate. You may want to apply a threadlocking solution to the threads of the screw to increase grip and prevent them from loosing over time.

Lever door handles that droop could be the result of a number of factors. The most frequent reason is that the fixings have been too tightened and are putting stress on the bearings of the lever, and causing it to pull against the door face. It could also be because the levers aren't being operated in a straight line and this is causing the latch mechanism and preventing it from fully springing back into action.

Another common reason is that the sprung lever is not working properly. This is typically due to the sprung not being in the correct position within the backplate. To determine if the handle returns to horizontal, simply move it.

If the door handles aren't tight, it is crucial to find the issue quickly, since this can lead to excessive wear on the screws and eventually to the handle falling off of the base plate. You should also tighten loose screws frequently to stop them from becoming looser.

Lever/Snib

These upvc handles are also called "Snib handle sets" and feature an snib lock button located at the top of the lever. If you don't have a dummy lock device then you can use this device to secure the door. They are usually fitted with a Fullex 68PZ (that's 68mm between the spindle's center and lever or the lock centre) door lock.
