The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot vacuum and mop robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention. It will leave your floors clean. Its surprisingly affordable price and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They have motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. As with other premium iRobot models (including the top-rated model), they use smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans and avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also have Carpet Boost, a feature which boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our floor tests that test for bare floors and are particularly effective in removing pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of a room.

Still, it's very good for those who want to save money on an iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also very quiet and operates when you're at work or in school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on very well and can't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. And, if you need to, you can swap the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. Its smart cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean and effective in tackling larger particles, like pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying bin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors to keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time and ensure better cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and customize zones with the well-designed app. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a carpeted room to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also perfect to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could clean an entire home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a great job cleaning a range of rooms and floors with mixed flooring types, including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it was able to avoid fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that looks much like a Roomba unit than the boxy units of the competition. It is one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's also the only robot vacuum or mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera, best robot hoover and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully self-refill and empty its base station and it has an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to use. It comes with a simple mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device, best robot hoover which can be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and more attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it will cost you more and produce more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a lot of advanced features to help you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine that is similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically empty the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and cleans and dries mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and identify obstacles, and navigates more effectively than some of its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time however, it wasn't foolproof in our testing and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also comes with an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas in the house depending on how dirty the areas tend to be.

If you have a larger home, you should consider selecting a robot that comes with spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you instruct the robot on which part of your home must be cleaned using the app or voice command. A stairway mode is beneficial if you have lot furniture. Also a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than the price suggests. It's a pro at cleaning, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other robot mop cleaners we've examined. It's self-sufficient too, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto vacuum and mop-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or to create an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for better performance. The app also grants access to a host of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like adorable eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is a bit louder than the other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also comes with an app that's not as intuitive and has a tiny base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
