WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item upgrader mod will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon or armor. The button will display the preview of an item's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.

upgrade items costs vary depending on the slot of the item and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or Item Level Upgrade bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

item level upgrade upgraders can be found in many places including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of obtaining a new recipe. The upgrade discount increases with the number of items being upgraded, and can be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available when certain milestones are reached.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a variety of options. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for gear of a certain rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests based on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulties to get lower-level gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or item level upgrade dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't too complicated however, the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest level possible on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they only have one use. For instance it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan on making. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
